Mind’s Stable

Like a stable of horses escaping, run wild…

Thoughts and emotions get away some days.

Constant work, to chase ’em down…toss lasso, corral.

Must remember not to shout curses…use gentle words, show mercy…

Lest reins, rope get tangled ’round my thick old neck:

High-strung mare needs Master’s touch, still small voice*…till peace, perspective return restored.

  1. Very thought-inducing Six/Pome.
(I like reading Sixes that are of a different shape and texture that most of our more prose-based stories.)
    Fun Six

  2. What an insightful and introspective SSS poem.
Learning to listen to the still small voice requires one’s constant willingness, attention, and obedience, but is so worth the peace it brings into one’s life.
